Soldering PL-259 and
N connectors
*************************************
Here is a very good video showing how to do this little chore the right way.
Take a look and if nothing else....see how this guy prepares the braid!
His gadget is awesome!
(might be on the list of projects for me}
but most of us mere mortals use a big weller

Station Grounding
*****************************************

Here is a great video on grounding your station.
I don't think we can ever get enough info on this subject!

Coax Connector Loss
***************************

Check this out!
I  always was told that with each
PL 259 the loss is 1db, and that N connectors had less loss than the PL259.  Watch the video and you make the call !

Install PL 259 On LMR 400 Cable
***************************

Here is a way to get that PL 259 on LMR 400.
With this cable and others in the LMR family, you cant solder the braid part to the plug. Take a look!

Here is a video on Isolation Transformers and Variacs You must always check to make sure isolation transformers are truly isolated, and remember that Variacs are NEVER isolated transformers.  This video show you how to make sure.

Here is a good video on how to build yourself an SDR receiver!

This video gives you tips on soldering also

Great video on making a transformer for EFHW using stranded house wire from Lowes or Home Depot.

IC-7300 vs K3s on SSB
**************************
Pretty cool test of the two!
He states that if he adjusts the Icom, he can make them almost identical.  But as they are in this test, pretty close!

PROGRAM THE QYT TH-7800
************************************************************
Some of us bought this dual bander for the go box competition
we had at the past club tailgater. I think this little radio is perfect for this kind of project.
My problem with it was trying to get it programmed !
I tried the programming software, but the cable would only work some of the time and ended up being a real pain.
I hate to admit it, but I have always liked punching buttons !
So I tried the programming instructions in the manual, and still had problems.
I found this you tube video that shows a final step that was left out of the manual (REALLY?)
If you bought one of these little wonders
(the size of a piece of bread)
give this video a look. It is very easy to program the radio when you have ALL the steps !
